Credit Card System

TeeNet will work with your course to set-up online clearing of credit cards. TeeNet uses CyberCash to facilitate all clearing of on-line credit cards. The CyberCash system utilizes a proprietary, state-of-the-art 1 28-bit encryption across a separate connection to verify and charge customer credit cards at the time of reservation.

This system has numerous advantages for both the course and the player:

  • The course knows that all reservations made across the Internet are already paid and those funds have already transferred into their account.

  • Because of the ability to transfer the funds immediately, courses will be able to open up tee times further in advance than they normally would without secured times.

  • Neither the course nor the player will have to worry about paying for tee times when they arrive at the course because that transaction has already occurred.

  • The golfer knows that he or she has pre-paid for their reservation and that they are guaranteed their tee time.

When registering golfers, TeeNet utilizes 128-bit encryption through a Verisign encryption certificate. Verisign is the industry leader in encryption technology and certification, and is the most widely used "Certifi cate Authority" in the world.

Once the golfer has entered their credit card information at registration, that information is securely stored in an area which is only accessible by administrative staff and the system (for use while reserving tee-times). To safeguard the golfers inform ation, if they wish to change their credit card information, they must either contact the course, or register again. There is no public access to the credit card information once it is entered by the golfer.

Is It safe?
While no one could ever make the claim that a system is 100% impenetrable, TeeNet takes the strongest measures commercially available to safeguard our client's precious data. All client data, whether being submitted by the client or viewed by the member golf course, is encrypted ensuring that interception of the data does not occur. This is verified by the complete key or lock in the lower corner of the browser (for secure pages only) and the change of the address/URL bar from "http://" to "https://". In our opinion it is certainly safer than giving your credit card to a waiter in a restaurant who disappears for a period of time!
